PROM TIME TIPS

  1. Prom night is a great night. You can go with a date, your gal-pal or just with the guys - there is no special requirement to be there.
  2. Book your tuxedo at least 2-3 months before your prom. You'll get better pricing. Don't worry if you don't know your date's dress color yet for vest, tie and pocket square.
  3. Look for coupons in newspapers, online, in the mail and around school.
  4. When your date has the color of her dress, bring a swatch or the dress into the tux shop to match the vest, tie and pocket square. Please don't use photos - they are not true to color.
  5. If you are shy about wearing a loud color no sweat - a black vest with the dress color tie and pocket square looks great. If the dress needs to be hemed, have your date save the piece and a pocket square can be made to bring it all together.  As well, you can pick a traditional vest color like silver - that looks great too!
  6. Make sure you know what the tux store booking requirements are and have it available when you go to book - each store is different.  Classic Tuxedos requires a $100 non-refundable deposit that is applied to the tux booking and Visa or Master Card information for security purposes.  If you don't go to the prom, let the store know. Your tux deposit is non-refundable, but, courtesy is always important.
  7. Remember the later you book your tux and/or accessories the more it could cost you. When a tux store has to rent garments from their wholesalers, they are charged a fee. The closer to the prom date, the less inventory there is in stock, the harder it is to get what you want and faster service costs more.  Remember, most proms are around the same time -  so last order in is the last order out!  Every extra piece or new change could cost you!
  8. Bring back your tux on time. If your'e going on an overnight stay, don't take the tux with you.  Arrange to have a "Designated Tux Taker" to come to you and collect tuxs.  As a thank you and to be respectful to the "Taker", make sure your tux is in a seperate bag with your name so no one is guessing which pieces belong to which gentleman. Check all your pockets for personal belongings.
  9. Keep an eye on any garments you leave on a chair, etc. They look good enough to take!
  10. Bringing your tux back after the return date will result in late fees of $25 or more a day - PLEASE DON'T BE LATE!!!
  11.  Most Important - Be Safe - Drive Carefully - Don't Drink - And Have The Best Night Of Your Life With Your Friends!
